Steven M. Egna, CBA is a Certified Business Appraiser accredited by the Institute of Business Appraisers and is the Director-Business Advisory Services for Teal Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. with over 25 years of diverse financial management experience.  He brings a practical hands-on approach to all of his work. In particular, when working with valuation and planning clients his past experience as a senior leader in companies provides the client with a unique perspective that they generally do not see from other service providers. He has worked on numerous valuation related assignments throughout his career.   

In addition to financial planning and valuation related projects, his specialties include mergers and acquisitions, operations analysis; and comprehensive product line profitability analysis including standard cost development. He has led cross-functional teams from various disciplines including systems, risk management, operations, sales and marketing. His skills were primarily developed through various leadership, management and analytical assignments at General Electric, including serving as the Finance Director for GE Capital's United Kingdom automobile financing business. In addition he has been the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of two Capital District based mid-market professional services firms. Steve was also one of five Managing Directors of an Investment Banking and Business Consulting firm located in Latham, NY.

Steve has worked in consumer and commercial as well as service and product oriented operations having held over ten financial positions throughout his business career.  His passion for sharing his knowledge includes contributing to various articles in local periodicals, speaking on business valuations and business planning for all types of businesses, and teaching valuation related courses.

Steve is a 1982 highest honors graduate of Northeastern University in Boston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1984, he was an honors graduate of General Electric's Financial Management Program. He also earned a Masters of Management from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is a 2002 graduate of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce's Capital Leadership Program.

His other activities include being on the board of Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar (www.crsas.org), the advisory board of The Stakeholders (www.thestakeholders.org) as well as being a guest lecturer at SUNY Albany and The Graduate College of Union University. He has also spent many years as a youth group advisor, coaching youth sports and is a certified US Soccer Federation referee.
